Mr. John Keown died Friday forenoon, of dropsy.  Mr. Keown’s health has been very bad since January and he gradually grew worse until his death.  Mr. Keown was an old citizen and Confederate veteran and a man liked by all who knew him.  He leaves a wife, daughter and son, to mourn the loss of a husband and father.  His remains were laid to rest at the Old Furnace Cemetery Saturday afternoon.  Mr. Jasper Keown and family, of Woodstock, attended the bedside and funeral of his brother, Mr. John Keown.

Mr. Marion Keown has been attending the bedside of his uncle, Mr. John Keown.
