James D. Kimsey Buried Sunday James David Kimsey, 87, a retired farmer of Cassville, and the oldest member of the Masonic Lodge in Bartow County, died at 5:40 a.m., Saturday, November 26, in a hospital in Rome, following a lingering illness. A native of Murphy, N.C., Mr. Kimsey had resided in Bartow County for more than 50 years. He was a member of the Cassville Baptist church and the Adairsville Masonic lodge, and was widely known throughout Northwest Georgia. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Rosa Hyde, in 1951. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Kimsey. Surviving are a son, David Kimsey, Jr., Cassville; two daughters Mrs. Frank McLeod Sr., of Rome, and Mrs. Mattie McEver, Newberry, S.C.; four brothers, Will Kimsey, Crowell, Tex.; Henry Kimsey, Ft. Worth, Tex.; Ferando and Mark Kimsey, both of Gainesville; three sisters, Mrs. Speer Cantrell, Atlanta; Mrs. E.G. Wilson, Marietta, and Mrs. Mollie Johnson, Plains; 11 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Cassville Baptist Church, the Rev. Joe Cook officiating. Burial was in the family lot at Cassville. Pallbearers included Lindsey Shinall, Dewey Shinall, Harold Tribble, Albert Allen, Homer Harris and Felton Bishop. Owen Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
