Mary Ada Knight
Bright Little Girl Victim Open Grate

After lingering for several days, Ada, the eight year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Knight, expired at the home of her parents last Saturday morning, at an early hour.

Funeral services were held at the Baptist Tabernacle last Sunday afternoon, and interment followed at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Rev George V. Crow conducted the funeral services, and the pallbearers were Messrs. R.E. Fowler, G.M. Fowler, John Knight, Will Knight, L.V. Payne and Joe Kennedy. The arrangements were in charge of G.M. Jackson & Sons.

Surviving are the parents and two little sisters, Alla Mae and Della Knight.

While standing before an open fire place, in the home, six days before her death, the little girl’s clothes caught fire, and she was frightfully burned. Everything possible was done to save her life, but she was beyond medical aid, and after lingering nearly a week, passed away.

NOTE: Mother’s name was Mary Montie Fowler
