Death of Mrs. B. J. Lowman.

Died, at the residence of her father, Mr. William Mountcastle, in this city, on Sunday morning last, Mrs. Lowman, wife of B. J. Lowman, of Chattanooga. The funeral services took place at the residence of her father yesterday afternoon at four o’clock, and the remains were interred in the city cemetery at five o’clock attended by a large number of friends.

Her’s was a pure life, full of the light and truth which gladdens the hearts of loved ones and gives to humanity an inheritance that can never die. She was converted at the Presbyterian church at Cartersville, in 1880, and joined the Methodist church under the pastorate of Rev. P. M. Ryburn. She was married to Mr. B. J. Lowman, March 16, 1882, and spent most of her life since then in Chattanooga. Early in the spring she came here with consumption. Her decline was rapid, and in a few fleeting weeks the faithful young wife, the obedient child, and the loving sister was no more.

She had been faithful to God and duty for years, and in a dying hour her faith in Christ was her only stay and her sure support. To her husband and the family we extend our heartfelt sympathies, and commend to them the faith, the love, the Christian character of the departed wife and daughter.
