Death of a Splendid Young Man.

Grover Mansfield, a young man about twenty-one years of age, died, at the home of his uncle, Mr. George Smith, in this city Monday morning last, at 6:20 o’clock.  He was taken ill with pneumonia on Tuesday of last week and his case grew rapidly worse until the end.  He was a son of Mr. Pat Mansfield, a farmer living several miles east of the city.  Two months ago he secured a job as fireman on the L. & N. Railroad.  He did his work faithfully until he was taken ill.  The funeral took place Tuesday.  The remains were interred at Oak Hill. [Another notice of this death can be found on page 5 of the November 19, 1908 issue, in the “East Side Notes.”]
