Jesse Floyd Massey, 71, of Route 6, Oakland Heights, died Sunday, February 6, 1983 following a short illness.

He was a native of Cherokee County, member of Mount Zion Baptist Church and retired employee of the Cartersville Housing Authority.

A son of the late James and Georgia Gravley Massey, survivors include his widow, Agnes Carson Massey; sons and daughters-in-law, Buddy and Betty Massey, Tim and Pam Massey, all of Cartersville; daughters and sons-in-laws, James and Edith Bailey, Sam and Joan Fortenberry, Ben and Ruth Hite, Bernice Patterson, all of Cartersville; two sisters, Estelle McCoy, Emerson; Laura Gibbs of Cartersville; one brother Homer Massey of Center; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Center Baptist Church with the Revs Rex Cox and Charles McPherson officiating.  Interment will follow the church cemetery.
