MR. J. F. MAYSON

Mr. J. F. Mayson, 80 years of age who died at his home near Austell Tuesday, was brought here late Tuesday night, and carried to the Funeral Chapel of John W. Jones.  Services were held there Wednesday morning and were conducted by Rev. W. H. Clark.  Mrs. Rebecca L. Felton, who knew the father of the deceased, the late Dr. Charles Neton Mason (sic), of Kingston, was also present, by special invitation, and she spoke a few words of praise in memory of the deceased who was a former citizen of this county.

Mrs. Tom Champion sang as a solo “The Old Rugged Cross” while Mrs. Champion, Mrs. Harry Cobb, Mrs. J. S. Whitaker, Mrs. W. C. Walton and Mr. Jones sang, “nearer My God To Thee.”

Following the impressive funeral service, the body was born to Oak Hill Cemetery, and there laid to rest.  The pallbearers were Messrs. J. F. and N. S. Mayson, Isaac Rollins, F. C. and T. M. Kalb, of Austell, and Mr. Wade C. Johnson, of Kingston.  Arrangements in charge of John W. Jones.

Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Camilla Sanford Mayson, three sons Messrs. J. E. Mayson, N. S. Mayson and H. J. Mayson; one daughter, Mrs. Mary Mayson Parrish; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.  The late Mrs. W. D. Rowland was also a daughter of the deceased.
