“Linwood.” Rev. T. W. Edwards performed the funeral services at the Baptist church, near here, of Archie McDaniel, who died at his brothers; age sixty-eight years. He came from Alabama on a visit and was taken sick and died on last Friday, and was buried on Saturday of last week. Are Laid To Rest Remains of General Young Interred at Oak Hill. Imposing Funeral Exercises Large Gathering to Do Honor to the Dead Hero—Touching Tributes by Gen, Evans and Others. [Long Article. An excerpt: “At two o’clock the train bearing the remains, with an escort of veterans from Atlanta, numbering about 75 persons, arrived. The remains were transferred to the hearse, drawn by four white horses with an all over netting of jet.”] |
