Death of Mrs. J. M. Neel.

Died, at her home in Cartersville, Thursday morning, September 29, 1881, Mrs. Anna M. Neel.

She was sick of fever about twelve days, delirious during the last four or five days, though she occasionally seemed, for but a moment, to recognize her mother and her husband. She was a daughter of O. D. and Amelia Anderson.

September 10, 1868, she joined the Baptist church at Adairsville. From that time until the end came, she lived a consistent Christian life. October 20, 1875, she was united in marriage to James M. Neel, with whom she lived happily until death did them part. Three little children, the youngest about one month old, are left to the care and love of the stricken husband.

In all the relations of life as a daughter, sister, wife and mother, she was a true woman. As a friend and as a Christian, she was devoted and unobtrusive. Her desire was that she might be spared to her husband and her children, but this desire was tempered by a trustful resignation to his will.

For some months previous to her death she felt premonitions of an early dissolution, and frequently made known these feelings to those she loved.

Hers was a life of piety, generous, unselfish deeds and sweet affection. She was never happier than when she was making others happy.

But the end came, and having lived right, she died right, and is---

“Asleep in Jesus, blessed sleep,

From which none ever wakes to weep.”

The stricken husband, the motherless children, the bereaved parents, brothers, sisters and friends, profiting by her beautiful life, may, when each is finished, share with her that rest that remaineth to the people of God.
