Lois E. Nelson, 83, of Jimmie Nelson Road, Kingston, died Monday, Jan. 4, 1999.

Mrs. Nelson was born July 2, 1915 in Montrose County, Mississippi, a daughter of the late Jessie Morris Eley and Mildred Neal Eley, was a member of the Stilesboro Chapter of the Eastern Star, member of the Euharlee Homemakers Club, member of the Brandon's Chapel Church and a retired school teacher.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Nelson and is survived by one daughter, Cindy Nelson of Duluth, two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Lisa Nelson of Roswell, Frank and Margaret Nelson of Euharlee, four grandchildren, Brent Nelson, Keith Nelson, Shawn Nelson and Staci Collins, two stepgrandchildren, Lucille Amos and Dale Langford and two great-grandchildren, Taylor and Gabriel Nelson, two sisters, Peggy Brashier of Biloxi, Mississippi, Frances Poole of Columbia, South Carolina, one brother, Dr. William Eley of Greenville, Mississippi and two stepbrothers, Joe Allen Bass and Lloyd Bass. She was preceded in death by sisters, Winnie Jean Phillips and Evelyn Williams and a brother, Charles Eley.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 6, from the chapel of the Owen Funeral Home with Dr. Wallace Preast officiating.  Interment will follow in the Euharlee Baptist Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Owen Funeral Home, 12 Collins Drive, Cartersville, is in charge of the arrangements.
