Death of James Noble.

The death of James Noble, which occurred at his home in Anniston Monday, removes a figure who was largely instrumental in the building of that city.  The noble and Tyler families and the late Duncan Parker contributed more to the building of the Model City than any other men and it was largely due to their efforts that Anniston became one of Alabama’s leading cities in a comparatively few years from the time it was laid out as a town.  Mr. Noble was a man of strong character, and of great moral worth.  By his courage, his energy, his example, he became a power for good in the community in which he lived.  He was public-spirited and generous and in his death Anniston loses one of its best friends. -- Birmingham News.
