Paul Pickard Of Adairsville Died Thursday

Paul Pickard, well known resident of Adairsville, Route 2, passed away early Thursday morning in a Veterans Hospital, in Atlanta.

Funeral services were conducted at two o’clock Saturday afternoon from the Plainview Baptist Church with interment in East View Cemetery, Adairsville.

The Rev. Hollis Hammonds and the Rev. M.L. Clark, were the officiating ministers with Barton Funeral Home, of Adairsville, in charge of arrangements.

The pallbearers were: Carl Pickard, Bill Pickard, Ovell Pickard, Junior Smith, J.R. Pickard, and R.L. Pickard.

He was the son of the late Ida Adams and Zack Pickard.

A veteran of World War I, he was a member of the Plainview Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, the former Maude Smith; a daughter, Shirley Pickard; and one adopted son Billy Gray, of Columbus Ohio; three brothers, Guy, of Quittman; A.H., of Ft. Payne, Ala; W.H., of Louisville, Ga; four sisters, Mrs. Horace Fountain, Bryantville, Ga.; Mrs. R.L. Edwards, of Dalton; Mrs. Ruth Bailey, of Cassville; and Mrs. Ida Mae Towers, of Grand Rapids, Mich.
