Former Resident of Cartersville Buried at Albany

Albany—Rites were conducted Monday in the First Methodist Church for S. Grady Roper, 59, who died at Phoebe Putney Hospital after a brief illness.

Mr. Roper moved to Albany from Cartersville 32 years ago, he was employed by Bankers Health and Life Insurance Company 29 years.  He was a member of the First Methodist Church, Albany Life Underwriters Association, and Dougherty Masonic Lodge 591.  The lodge had charge of the funeral rites in Crown Hill Cemetery, and the Rev. R. E. Llorens was the officiating minister.

Survivors include his wife, the former Miss Laura King, of Tifton; a daughter, Mrs. A. W. Gill, of Albany; a son, Capt. G. Wayne Roper, of Travis Air Force Base, Fairfield, Calif.; his mother, Mrs. Nancy Roper, of Cartersville; two sisters, Mrs. S. G. Young, of Calhoun, and Mrs. W. T. Bradford, of Cartersville, and four grandchildren.
