A Good Lady Gone.
Mrs. W. D. Rowland Dies Last Monday After Short Illness.

A sad death was that of Mrs. Rowland, wife of Mr. W. D. Rowland, which occurred at her home, in this city, Monday afternoon at about two o’clock.  Mrs. Rowland had been sick only about a week and her malady was such as required several surgical operations.  These were skillfully performed but were unavailing in saving her life.

Mrs. Rowland was originally Miss Evvie Mayson, daughter of Mr. Joseph Mayson, a well known and popular citizen who now lives at the old Schulte home, near Rogers Station, and the granddaughter of the late Dr. C. N. Mayson, of Kingston.

Mrs. Rowland was an intelligent lady of most cheerful disposition and possessed many friends to whom her death is quite a blow as well as to her immediate family.  She leaves beside her husband, five children to mourn the loss of an affectionate and devoted parent.  To the bereaved the sympathy of the community goes out in full measure.

The funeral took place from the home at four o’clock Tuesday afternoon.  The interment was at Oak Hill.
