Death of an Old Citizen

Mr. L. A. Scanland died at his home near Cass Station Saturday morning. He was sixty-six years old, and came here from Virginia several years ago. He was an honorable upright Christian gentleman, a member of the Baptist church, and during his stay in our county, made many warm friends. He had no children, but leaves a wife. His remains were interred at the cemetery at Cassville Sunday afternoon. Rev. B. B. Quillian conducted the funeral services. It was a very rainy day but there was quite a large crowd in attendance.
