Myrtle A. Segars, 85, of Bells Ferry Road, White, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 1999.

Mrs. Segars was born Dec. 25, 1914 in Bartow County, a daughter of the late Madison and Naomi Abernathy.

She was a member of the Pine Grove Baptist Church and a homemaker.

Preceded in death by her husband, Frank Leon Segars, she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Lavern and Jerry Bennett of White, a son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Pearl Segars of White, a son-in-law, Jack Hardin of White, one brother, Lewis Abernathy of Cartersville, two sisters, Gladys Wills of Perry, Joyce Adams of Cartersville and a number of nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by a daughter, Annette Hardin and a son, Billy Leon Segars.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 2, 2000 from the Pine Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. Clinton Green and Hubert Woodward officiating.  Interment will follow in the Shinall cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Greg Bennett, Stacey Nicholson, David Abernathy, Don Archer, Russell Segars and Sam Wheeler.

Owen Funeral Home, 12 Collins Drive, Cartersville, is in charge of the arrangements.
