OBITUARY. –“Suffer little children to come unto me.”  Thursday the 24th inst., was a day of natural sympathy with the village of Stilesboro and vicinity; for the angel of death was hovering around to bear its two little victims away.   The morning was solemnized, at the Thurmond Hill Burying Ground, by the interment of little WM. THOMAS, youngest son of Dr. J. C. SIMS, aged nearly three years.  In the evening of the same day, little MAUDE, youngest child of Capt. HYER, aged about 8 years, was consigned to the tomb, at Raccoon Cemetery.  “The Lord gave and the Lord hath taken away.”

“I take these little lambs, said he.
And lay them in my breast;
Protection they shall find in me,
In me be ever blest.

Death may the bands of life unloose,
But can’t dissolve my love;
Millions of infant souls compose
The family above.

These words the Christian parents hear,
And shout with joy divine;
Lord, all we have and all we are,
Shall be forever thine.”
