Henry Smith Buried Friday Sunset Memory

Henry O. Smith, a well-known masonry contractor, passed away Wednesday following a sudden illness.

He was a native of Bartow County, a resident of Cartersville and a son of the late Oliva Cowart and J. J. Smith.

He married the former Annie Ruth Landers 37 years ago and was a member of the Rowland Springs Baptist Church, the Masonic Order and the Shrine.

Funeral services were conducted at three o’clock Friday from the Rowland Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. John Lardmore officiating. Interment followed in Sunset Memory.

Owen Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements with the following pallbearers: Winston Rice, Robert Jones, Max Otting, Michael Otting, Wayne Maulding and Clifton Keith.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Ronald; two daughters, Mrs. Marlix Young, Mrs. Joyce Ingram, Rocky Mount, NC; seven grandchildren; his stepmother Mrs. J. J. Smith; two brothers, George L., Cartersville, J. B., of Phillipine Islands; two sisters, Mrs. Olin Dabbs, Cartersville, Mrs. Walter Burton, Chamblee; a number of nieces and nephews.
