Death of Judge Stokely.

The death of Judge D. V. Stokely occurred at his home at Acworth last Friday morning.  Judge Stokely was one of the best known citizens of Cobb county, and was well known in Bartow, where he used to live.  He was 78 years of age.  He came to north Georgia soon after the war from Cocke county, Tenn.  He represented Cocke county in the legislature.  He settled in Bartow county when moving to Georgia, and eighteen years ago represented the county in the Georgia General Assembly.  He was the father of Mrs. R. R. Beazley, of this county, Mrs. J. J. Northcutt, of Acworth, and Mrs. Malone, of Marietta.  He leaves three sons, two of them in Acworth, and one in Washington, D. C.
