L.C. Summey, 72, of Cline Smith Road, Cartersville, died Friday, May 1, 1995.

He was born May 14, 1925, in Sumter County, a son of the late Dock Robinson Summey and Lou Hite Summey.

He was of the Baptist faith, a member of the CHVA Antique Car Club, member of the Artist Blacksmith Association of North American and was the retired manager of the Crest Auto Frame Shop.

He is survived by his wife, Inez Scott Summey; one son, Johnny Lee Summey of Cartersville; one daughter, Janice Turner of Lamar, South Carolina; four grandchildren, David, Mark and Douglas Turner all of Lamar, South Carolina and Gary Willis of Cartersville; a number of great-grandchildren; two sisters, Annie Summey Jackson of Smithville, Georgia, and Sue Summey Weaver of Acworth.  He is also survived by special friends, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Rogers of Euharlee.

He was preceded in death by two sons, David Scott Summey and Bradley Lamar Willis; three sisters, Mrs. Sallie Darnell, Mrs. Susie Abernathy, and Mrs. Fannie Crisp and by four brothers, Lonnie, E.C., Lewis and Raymond Summey.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, May 3, 1998, from the Chapel of the Owen Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles McPherson officiating.  Interment will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be George Cook, Frank Marler, Doug Turner, Clifford Johnson, Doug Vernon, David Turner, Mark Turner and Jerry Summey.  Honorary pallbearers will be Will Henry Lipscomb, Walt Lipscomb, Gene Tilley, Jim Tilley, Frank Lipscomb, John Paul Lewis, Tommey Dorsey and Jeff Summey.
