C.N. Surratt, 75, of Baker Road, Cartersville, died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2000.

Mr. Surratt was born Feb. 9, 1924 in Bartow County, a son of Jave and Alice Ross Surratt, was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in World War II, was retired from Shaw Industries after 30 years and was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church in Rydal.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mildred Norrell.

Surviving are his wife, Ella Mae Surratt of Cartersville, a daughter and son-in-law, Dian and Jimmy Day of Cartersville, a son and daughter-in-law, James and Carol Sue Surratt of White, a son-in-law, Dean McMillan, two grandchildren, Brooke Surratt of Rydal, Lisa Strain of Cartersville, two great-grandchildren, Kristen and Kayla Strain of Cartersville, a brother, Jack Surratt of Rydal, sisters, Carlene Elrod and Frances Long, both of Rydal, Nettie Jo Guffey of Morristown, Tennessee, Betty Jean Chastain of Calhoun and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 7 at 2 p.m. from Oak Hill Baptist Church in Rydal with the Rev. Boyd Manis and the Rev. Leroy Kelley officiating.  Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Nephews served as pallbearers.

Owen Funeral Home, 12 Collins Drive, Cartersville, was in charge of the arrangements.
