Polly Pierce Tatum, 67, of Highway 113, Cartersville, died Sunday, Jan. 3, 1999.

Mrs. Tatum was born July 1, 1931, in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, a daughter of Floyd Pierce and Pauline Mayes Pierce, retired from First Brands after more than 33 years and a member of First Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are her husband, Hoyt Deward (Slick) Tatum of Cartersville, children, Susan and Jerry Ingram of Cartersville, Charles and Lynn Tatum of White, Bob and Debra Tatum of Cartersville, grandchildren, Greg and Michael Ingram, Brent Tatum and Christy Tatum, two great-grandchildren, Margaret and Katherine Tatum, sisters, Dorothy P. Williamson of Monroe, Nancy Tew of Woodstock, a brother, Mayes Pierce of Louisville, Kentucky, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 5 at 1 p.m. from the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Ted Smith officiating.  Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Owen Funeral Home Monday evening from 6 until 8.

Pallbearers will be nephews, David Tew, Bruce Williamson, grandsons, Brent Tatum, Michael Ingram, Greg Ingram and special friend, Marvin Taylor.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church.

Owen Funeral Home, 12 Collins Drive, Cartersville, is in charge of the arrangements.
