Mr. George Washington Thomas, 88, of Cartersville, died Monday, Dec. 21.

He was born Nov. 16, 1910 in Wahalla, S.C.   He was a member of Gilmer Street Baptist Church.  He was retired from EZ Mills.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Willie Hubbard Thomas.

\Survivors include two sons; Jerry Thomas, Jonesborough, Tenn., and Robert Thomas, Cartersville; two daughters, Linda DeBoard, Acworth, and Shirley Peek , Conyers; five grandchildren, David, Michael, and Sara Thomas, Laura and Travis DeBoard; one sister, Pearl Moye, Brunswick; and one brother, Homer Thomas, Albany.

Funeral services will be held in the Parnick Jennings Funeral Home chapel, Wednesday, Dec. 23, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Doug Harris officiating.  Interment will be in the Zion Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Charles Spradley, Earl Crowe, Clayton Wright, Jack Turner, Elmer Ridley and James Rogers.

The family will receive friends at the Parnick Jennings Funeral Home from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. and from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 22.

The Parnick Jennings Funeral Home, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, is in charge of arrangements.
