OBITUARY.

Departed this life in Floyd county, Ga., October 1st, Mrs. MARY ANN TUMLIN, consort of Newton J. Tumlin, in the 27th year of her age.

The subject of this notice leaves behind her kind and affectionate parents, a tender and loving husband and two dear little children, too young to know the worth of that mother of which they have been bereaved, while many other friends mourn the loss of one who justly possessed so large a place in their hearts.  But they grieve not as those who have no hope.—For several years the deceased has been a pious member of the Baptist church, and by her character and conduct adorned the profession she made in early life, trusting and relying upon that Savior to whom she gave her heart in happy girlhood.

Thou’rt gone to the grave but ‘twere wrong to deplore thee,
When God was thy ransom, thy guardian and guide;
He gave thee, He took thee and He will restore thee,
Where death has no sting, since the Savior has died.
