John William (Bill) Vaughan, 84, of 236 Old Tennessee Highway, White, died Wednesday, January 29, 1992.

He was born May 12, 1907 in Bartow County, a son of the late William LaFayette Vaughan and Cora Bagwell Vaughan, was a member of the Pine Log United Methodist Church and a farmer.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Dorroh Vaughan, daughter and son-in-law, Gene and Wilma Rampley, White; son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Carolyn Vaughan, White; grandchildren, Carol and Randy Willis, Neil and Susan Vaughan, Tom Rampley; great-grandchildren, Matt and Meredith Willis; four brothers, Wiley Vaughan, John Vaughan, Dave Vaughan, all of Cartersville; Taylor Vaughan, Smyrna; sisters, Dimple Vaughan, Cartersville; Sarah Manning, Plantation, Florida; sisters-in-law, Sarah and Carrie Dorroh and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a/m. Friday from Pine Log Methodist Church with the Rev. Harry Hawkins and the Rev. Steve Dodson officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be J.C. Evans, Dillard Rutledge, W.H. Lipscomb, John Upshaw, Alvin Richards and Vann Satterfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Pine Log Methodist Church.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 until 9 p.m. Thursday and will lie in state at the church from 10:30 until 11 a.m. Friday.
