Death of An Old Citizen.

F. M. Verner died at his home in this city, last Saturday night.  He had been in bad health for some time and his death was not unexpected.

Mr. Verner was 67 years of age.  He was born in Franklin county, Georgia, but lived in South Carolina for a number of years previous to the civil war.  He went into the war as a member of the ninth Georgia regiment and made a good soldier.  In 1867 he moved to this county, which has been his home ever since.  He leaves five sons and one daughter. Among his sons are Sam Verner, of this city and J. B. Verner, of Atlanta, Henry Verner, of Birmingham.  The funeral took place Monday from the home on Forest avenue, the services conducted by Rev. H. B. Mays.
