Mrs. John H. Walker, Sr., died at the residence of her son, J. P. Walker, early Monday morning. Several months ago she had a hard spell of sickness, but had well nigh recovered and was thought to be about well, but last week she suddenly became ill and lingered until Monday morning when her spirit passed peacefully upward to the kingdom above. She was in her 75th year, had been a member of the Methodist church the greater part of her life and lived a consistent Christian, and may the bereaved ones find consolation in knowing that she is forever blest and that though she cannot return to them, they can go to her. Mrs. Walker leaves three sons, Messrs. Randolph and Pink Walker, of this place, and J. H. Walker, Jr. of Stilesboro. Her husband died several years ago. On Tuesday morning her body was consigned to its last resting place by the side of her husband, in the Hargis’ cemetery, Rev. B. B. Quillian, assisted by Rev. A. J. Buford, conducting the funeral services.---W. C. W.
