In Cedartown an infant two years old, the little daughter of Bushrod Wicher, was burned to death. The child’s parents were picking cotton a short distance from the house, while their two little children, the elder a boy four years of age, were playing in the yard. The boy kindled a fire upon the ground and the little girl’s clothing took fire from the flames. Upon hearing the screams of their children the parents rushed to the scene, and the father’s hands were horribly burned in attempting to extinguish the flames. The child lived but a few hours. |
