B. W. Williams of Adairsville Dies Suddenly

Buford Willie Williams, 62, of Adairsville, died Wednesday following a sudden illness.

He was born March 16, 1906, son of the late Tom and Mary Williams. He was a member of the Dry Creek Baptist Church, a retired farmer, and for the past two years operated a service station on North Main St. in Adairsville.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon at two o’clock from the Floyd Creek Baptist Church near Taylorsville, the Rev. John O. Jarrett, the Rev. Waldon Abernathy and the Rev. Ellis Cowart officiating.

Survivors include his wife, the former Mamie Jenkins, four sons, Jimmy and Billy of Adairsville, Sgt. Robert Williams of San Antonio, Texas, and Dixie Williams of Cartersville; five daughters, Miss Jo Ann Williams, Mrs. Weldon Woodring, Mrs. Bill Teague and Mrs. Janet Jarrett, all of Adairsville and Mrs. Wilbur Knowles of New Providence, New Jersey; two sisters, Mrs. Arthur Jenkins of Ballground, Ga., and Mrs. Bob Richmond of Marietta; one brother, Jack Williams of Rome; thirteen grandchildren also survive. Barton Funeral Home was in charge.
