Killing In Whitfield.

As the result of a quarrel with Jim and Claude Warnick in the northern part of Whitfield county, near Dalton, Mr. Chester Wilson, a prominent young farmer of that section, was struck on the head with a heavy club and instantly killed a few days ago.

Claude Warnick is alleged to have inflicted the fatal blow, while his brother was engaged in conversation with the farmer.  He made his escape, while Jim was locked up and is held pending a hearing.

Sheriff Johnson of Whitfield county has offered a reward of $200 for the arrest of Claude Warnick.  The victim of the murder is a son of County Commissioner John A. Wilson and is known in this section.—Rome Herald.
