Horrible Homicide.

Mr. M. V. Wood, a quiet and peaceful citizen, died at his residence, in this city, last Sunday evening, from the effects of a large number of blows received from John Oswalt, appointee of Gen. Meade, as Deputy Marshal of Rome. – Courier 14th.
