Prof. Yeates Dead.

Prof. William S. Yeates, state geologist for many years, and one of the best known citizens of the state, died Wednesday morning of last week at his home, No. 180 East Pine street, Atlanta, after a long illness, in the 52d year of his age.  Prof, Yeates had been ill with a complication of troubles for several months, and for the last three weeks had been very unwell. His death Wednesday morning was, however, very unexpected, as he passed a satisfactory night Tuesday. He seemed to be resting well during the early morning, when about 8 o’clock, he suddenly became worse, and expired within half an hour.
