Allen Young, a native of Bartow County and highly esteemed and much beloved citizen, died at Cedartown Tuesday evening after a short illness.

Mr. Young was 57 years of age.  He was born in Bartow County but lived much of his life in Polk County. While always engaged in business, he found time and possessed the inclination to preach the gospel and was always ready, willing and anxious to perform this Christian duty wherever his services were needed.  He was a devoted member of the Baptist Church, a member of the Odd Fellows, Masons and Red Men.  He married 36 years ago and is survived by his widow and three daughters, Mrs. Jack Mabry, Mrs. Rilla Irwin and Mrs. H.A. Hazlewood.

The funeral services will be held at the home of Mrs. Hazlewood Thursday afternoon at 1:30 conducted by Rev. C.L. McGinty, pastor of the First Baptist Church.

[NOTES: He is buried at Oak Hill Cemetery.]
