The Rev. James W. Young, of Route 3, Cartersville, died suddenly Friday. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday from the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with the Rev. Pat Kennedy officiating. Interment was in Oak Hill Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Clyde Hughes Young; three daughters, Mrs. Ed Evans and Mrs. Houston Hightower, both of Cartersville; and Mrs. Richard Garris, of Texas; one son, Marvin Young, Cartersville; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Lawrence Young, Cedar Bluff, Alabama; two sisters, Mrs. John Early and Mrs. Dewey Park, both of Cedar Bluff, Alabama; several nieces and nephews. He was a retired minister and business man. He was a son of the late John W. and Mary Garrett Young. He was born October 27, 1896, in Cherokee County, Alabama. He was a veteran of World War I. Serving as pallbearers were the Rev. Dane Black, the Rev. Charles Law, Johnny Summey, Billy Pickel, Charles Howell and Lloyd Shinall. |
