Mrs. Sallie Young, 55, of Cartersville, died at Panama City, Florida, at 4 a.m. Sunday March 11, following a short illness. A native of Cherokee County, she was born October 29, 1900, a daughter of Allison and Rena Clarence Moss. Thirty-eight years ago, she was married to James W. Young, Sr., who survives his wife. She was affiliated with the Baptist church. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, March 13, at the Center Baptist church, with the Rev. Nat Abernathy and the Rev. Johnny Clark officiating. Interment followed in the Oak Hill Cemetery, at Cartersville. Owen Funeral Home had charge of arrangements. Survivors, besides the husband, include three daughters, Mrs. B.C. Evans, Mrs. Houston Hightower and Mrs. Q.L. McIntyre, all of Cartersville; two sons, Marvin and J.W. Young, Jr., both of Cartersville; 11 grandchildren; one brother, M.L. Moss, of Cartersville; and two sisters, Mrs. Grace Beavers and Mrs. Thelma Hardin, both of Cartersville. |
