Poor School Book - Index

Note from Betty Boggs:  This is a book copied from an old ledger that was labeled as Poor School Book. This information is not to be sold or used for monetary gain but you may use it for personal genealogy information. There are many names that will be recognized as past and present old families in the old Cass (now Bartow Co., GA. I tried to scan the information but it wasn't legible after scanning.

It was very difficult to read the old writing for some names but I have tried my best to write them as they were written. I'm sure there will be some wrong. I'm trying to get help on the names in question. Please use and enjoy it. Because of the writing, I can't guarantee that all names are copied correctly.

If there are any questions about a particular name, please keep in mind the many different spellings. It appears that many first, middle and Sir names were written by sound.

On some pages, there are parents and/or widows/widowers names and how many children he/she/they have in school. There are some with ages of children.

Also there are pages where many people in the area were paid for services or supplies. These are from dates 1845 to 1858 which may actually show names of families that may not have been in the County in 1845 to 1858 or may not have been on the County Census at the beginning of 1840, 1850 or even in 1860.
