At the Central Presbyterian church, Atlanta, by Rev. Theodore E. Smith, of this city, assisted by Rev. Robert Irvine, of Augusta, Mr. THOMAS W. BAXTER, of Cartersville, was married last Tuesday to Miss BESSIE FITZSIMMONS, daughter of Col. O. P. Fitzsimmons.

The following were the attendants: Miss Nellie Fitzsimmons and Mr. T. Warren Akin; Miss Alice Baxter and Mr. M. Fitzsimmons; Miss Russell, of Augusta, and Mr. Nathan Sayre; Miss Kate Fleming and Mr. J. Rucker, Miss Phinizee and Mr. Marcus H. Field; Miss Eva Low and Mr. J. W. Harris.

The ushers were Messrs. J. P. Stevens, C. W. Crankshaw, C. R. Harris and C. G. Eckford.

The happy couple left on the Air Line road that afternoon for an extended bridal tour north, during which they will visit the popular watering places. [Marriage also mentioned in The Free Press, June 5, 1879, page 3.]
