Cupid’s Depredations The Little Fellow Puts in Good Work During the Holiday. We had just closed our matrimonial record for this season, thinking that our yoing people had lost all the loving feeling for each other and that Cupid had quit the business in disgust, when to our surprise marriage licenses began to disappear from Judge Howard’s office with an alarming rapidity. We took cheer and with a little perseverance we have managed to get the names of the following contracting parties: Cuyus—Leeke At the pleasant home of Esquire B. T. Leeke, near Euharlee, on Thursday evening, 22nd ult., his daughter, Miss Sallie, was united in the holy bonds of matrimony to Dr. H. D. Cunyus, both of Stilesboro, Rev. J. G. Ryals performing the ceremony with his usual grace and impressiveness. It was our good fortune to be present on this happy event and a more enjoyable event was never spent by those present. At 8 o’clock, the ceremony was performed and soon thereafter supper was announced, and such a supper! We will not make ourself ridiculous be attempting to describe it. Suffice it to say that it was just splendid. The bride is one of Bartow’s most charming young ladies and will make the fireside of the fortunate groom a most pleasant one. The groom is well known throughout the county as a steady, high-toned man. We wish the happy couple a long life of prosperity and happiness. |
