On the 26th of September, Mr. EDWARD DELANEY, of New Orleans, La., and Miss MAGGIE LAYDEN, of Bartow county, were married at the residence of the bride’s father, Mr. P. Layden, at Summit station, W. & A. R. R., by Rev. J. F. Colbert, and on the 30th a reception was given by Mr. Layden.  The following persons were present: Gen McRae, Superintendent W. & A. R. R.; M. H. Dooley, Road Master, W. & A. R. R.; Mrs. M. H. Dooley, Miss Lillie McCowen, Capt. D. G. Wylie, Yard Master, W. & A. R. R.; Engineers Flynn and Dailey, of Atlanta; Hiram Butler, Supervisor, W. & A. R. R., from Big Shanty; R. P. O’Neal and Miss Agnes Morris of Dalton.  Your reporter was invited, but owing to sickness could not be present, but I am under many obligations to the happy couple for a basket of nice cakes and candies and a bottle of fine California mountain wine, which was duly appreciated.  I would be happy to chronicle marriages every few days if they should be accompanied by such pleasant remembrances.  A long and happy life to you, my friends.
