Cupid’s Capers.

Sunday was a good day for marriages and it seems the young folks jumped up pretty lively.

Mr. John Asa Dobbs, son of Mr. Asa Dobbs, and Miss Lizzie Collins, daughter of Mr. Jack Collins, “laughed at locksmiths” etc. and hunted up ‘Squire J. M. Smith, who made them happy.   Another couple wasn’t quite so lucky – the young lady’s father objected and stopped proceedings at once, leaving the young man to ruminate over the disappointments of this life, while the old gent looks after the lass with a jealous eye and a shotgun.
