Death of Mr. Effert Gaines.

Mrs. Hargis died at the home of her son, J. F. Hargis, in Kingston, on the night of the 30th of January. She had been greatly afflicted for several years, but her death was a shock to the community. A good mother in Israel has fallen. Her remains were carried to the old family graveyard near Cass Station on the old homestead, owned by her son R. R. Hargis. All her children were present at the funeral services, conducted by Rev. G. S. Tumlin of Marietta.
