The Atlanta papers of Sunday carried the following announcement which will be read with interest in this city:

Colonel J. K. Barton, of Marietta, Ga., announces the engagement of his daughter, Charlotte Bigelow, to Mr. Beverly Pierce Head, of Birmingham, Ala., the marriage to take place early in June.

Miss Barton has visited Cartersville quite often, she being a sister of Mrs. Horace Howard, and is quite a pretty and attractive young woman.

Marietta Wedding.
Miss Charlotte Barton Weds Mr. B. P. Head, of Birmingham.

The Marietta News in its last issue has the following to say of the marriage of Miss Charlotte Barton of that city, and Mr. B. P. Head, of Birmingham, Alabama:

“Miss Charlotte Barton and Mr. B. P. Head, of Birmingham, Ala., were united in marriage at the first Baptist church, Marietta, Wednesday evening at six o’clock, Rev. Geo. E. Bennedict of Cedartown officiating.

“Miss Barton is one of the most popular and accomplished young ladies of Marietta and has a host of friends who waft best wished after her.  Mr. Head, the fortunate bridegroom, is a successful business man in Birmingham where they will reside.

“Messrs. J. M. Fowler, Leon Gilbert, Floyd Northcutt, and Henry Cohen and little Miss Howard, of Cartersville, and Charlotte Northcutt, of Marietta, were flower girls.

“Mr. Underwood, of Birmingham, was best man, Miss Willie Barton, the bride’s sister, was maid of honor, the other attendants being Miss Jamie Head, sister of the groom, and Mr. Charles Barton, brother of the bride.

“The bride, who was one of the most charming and beautiful of Marietta’s young women was clad in a blue traveling dress.  The happy couple left for Birmingham immediately after the ceremony and will go from there to Atlantic City and other northern places of interest.  The News extends congratulations and best wishes.”

Miss Barton is a sister of Mrs. Horace Howard, of this city, and has visited Cartersville quite often.
