Cupid Makes Some Centre Shots.

We are pleased to note more active movements in the matrimonial market during the past week. According to a prediction made in last week’s American, two of Bartow’s most lovely ladies have embarked on the matrimonial sea within good sailing condition, with fair prospects of a successful voyage, and a safe anchorage in the port of domestic peace and happiness. If indications are worth anything other voyagers will soon trim their sails and launch their barques. We can make no positive prediction for the coming week, but Madam Rumor has it that a popular Erwin street belle and a prominent young attorney of the Cartersville bar will join the procession before many more moons shall wax and wane.

Married at the residence of Major William L. Rowland of Bartow county, on Wednesday January the 16th, 1884, at one o’clock P. M., Rev. Wm. Milner of Summerville, officiating, Miss Mamie Rowland to Mr. B. O. Henry of Summerville, Ga. --- Attendants, Mr. Will D. Rowland of Cartersville and Miss Kathleen Saxon of Bartow county. Mr. Henry is one of the firm of J. S. Cleghorn & Co., merchants of Summerville. He is a young man of fine personal appearance and splendid business capacity. He has won for a wife a woman of unusual personal beauty, and rare accomplishments. Miss Mamie was one of Bartow’s favorites and we lose her reluctantly. This was a love match, and where such is the case it is not necessary to wish that they will be happy, for love is a luxury that sweetens life, and they will be happy without our wishing it, yet we join their numerous friends and wish them a life of peace, prosperity, health and happiness again.
