McElroy – Jones. Last Thursday, January, 8th, at 1:30 o’clock, p. m., at the residence of Col. C. M. Jones, the bride’s father, Mr. J. E. McElroy, of Norcross, Georgia, was married to Miss Sallie F. Jones, of Bartow county, Rev. W. A. Dodge, of Atlanta officiating. Mrs. McElroy was justly considered one of most beautiful young ladies, both in disposition and in personal appearance. Mr. J. E. McElroy, the groom, is a gentleman of a dignified and courteous bearing. He is a man of considerable means and possesses a name above par in business circles. He richly deserved, and fortunately won, a lady who has all the characteristics that go to make up a splendid wife. After the short and impressive ceremony had been performed in the presence of the relatives of the contracting parties and a very few select friends, all were invited to the dining room, where an elegantly prepared and sumptuous repast awaited them. The happy pair boarded the northbound passenger train in the afternoon for New Orleans, where they go to visit the Exposition, and spend their honeymoon. May their lives be as beautiful as the day on which they were married, and may all things conspire to render them as happy and prosperous as they now expect is the wish of the American. |
