Married At The Hotel.
Mr. Messer and Miss Swann, of Gordon, United by Rev. Mr. Mays Sunday.

Mr. R. P. Messer and Miss Josephine Swann were quietly united in marriage at the Park Hotel Sunday morning.  The contracting parties were both residents of Carters, a small station on the L. & N., between this city and Etowah, Tenn.  They came down on local L. & N. train which arrives in the city at 9:40.  On arrival here they went to the Park Hotel.  Judge George W. Hendricks, the clever and accommodating ordinary happened to be sitting on the hotel veranda and upon being informed that the couple desired to get married he secured a marriage license for them.  Rev. Henry B. Mays, pastor of the Sam Jones Memorial church, was notified to come down to the hotel and the ceremony was performed in the hotel parlor about ten o’clock. The bride and groom took the 10:20 L. & N. train for Atlanta, where they will take a wedding tour after which they will return to Carters.  The bride and groom are both well connected and stand high in the community where they live.  Mr. Messer is manager of the Mr. Sam Carter’s store, at Carters.
