“Local Items.” Mrs. J. C. Dodd, of Euharlee, Ga., announces the engagement of her daughter, Mary Lucile, to Mr. J. C. Reese, of Midland, Ga., the wedding to take place at home on August 8th. They will reside at Midland. ******************** August 15, 1907 A Wedding. A pretty home wedding was that of Miss Lucile Dodd, of this county, and Mr. J. C. Reese, of Columbus, Ga., which took place Wednesday morning, August 7th, at the home of the bride’s mother, Mrs. J. C. Dodd, of near Euharlee. The parlor was beautifully decorated with ferns, vines and flowers. As the strains of the wedding march played by Miss Maud Brandon, were heard, the couple marched to an improvised altar of shrubbery, and Rev. Albert Reese, a brother of the groom, performed the ceremony. There were no attendants. The bride wore a handsome traveling gown of blue silk, and carried a lovely bouquet of ferns and lilies. The happy couple left immediately for Athens and other points, carrying with them the good wishes of a host of friends and admirers. The bride is one of Bartow’s fairest daughters, while the groom is a citizen of Muscogee county. |
