“Brief Local Items.” Invitations are out to the marriage of Mr. Eugene S. Roberts, of Cartersville, and Miss Lollie Newsome, of this county. The marriage will take place in Independence church at noon on Dec. 23d. Mr. Roberts is a most excellent young man and we are glad to know he will become a citizen of Wilkes county, having bought the Heard place six miles north of town. Miss Lollie Newsome is one of the most charming young ladies ever reared to womanhood in Wilkes county. –Washington, (Ga.,) Chronicle ********************************** January 6, 1898,
