Calhoun – Strozier. The Atlanta Georgian of Monday evening contained the following: Dr. Frank R. Calhoun, of Cartersville, announces the engagement of his daughter, Augusta, to Mr. Josiah Lewis Strozier, of McRae, the marriage to take place at home October 20. ************************************************** The Cartersville News Calhoun – Strozier At the home of the bride’s father, Dr. F. R. Calhoun, Tuesday evening, Miss Augusta Calhoun was married to Prof. J. L. Strozier, of McRae, Ga. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Mr. Strozier, of Rome, a brother of the groom, at 4:30 o’clock. It was a quiet family wedding, only a few invited guests being present. A large number of relatives of the bride and groom, however, were present. The wedding march was played by Miss Watson, of Acworth. Mrs. A. B. Cunyus, in her own delightful way sang “O Promise Me” and was accompanied by Miss VanDevander on the piano. A splendid luncheon was served after the ceremony. The couple took their departure on the afternoon train for McRae, their future home. The bride is one of Cartersville’s most estimable and popular ladies while the groom is an educator of ability and is very popular where he is known. He taught in this county some years ago at both Euharlee and Adairsville. The best wishes of many friends follow the happy couple in their matrimonial voyage. |
