Cartersville Young Merchant Weds a Jonesboro Young Lady.

“One of the most beautiful church weddings ever witnessed in Jonesboro was that solemnized at the Baptist church Thursday morning, uniting Miss Nell Irene Sims, of Jonesboro and Mr. Robert Lee Webb, of Cartersville.

“At the hour for the ceremony, 10:30 o’clock, the church presented a most pleasingly attractive scene, decorated with choice flowers and ferns and crowded with one of the most elegant gatherings ever assembled in this city.

“The bride’s rich beauty thrilled every person in the audience as she entered leaning on the arm of her brother, Rev. Lamar Sims.  The groom came in accompanied by his best man, Mr. G. G. Warde.  Following were the ushers, all of whom were cousins of the bride: Messrs. C. H. and E. W. Hutcheson, Robert and Russ Allen and Patric and Ben Orr.  The bridal party assembled at the altar where the marriage ceremony was gracefully pronounced by Rev. B. J. W. Graham.  Mrs. L. H. Jones presided at the organ, and Mrs. Webb of Atlanta, charmed all with beautiful song.

“At 11 o’clock the bridal couple left for a tour of the northern cities.

“This marriage takes from Jonesboro one of the loveliest and most beloved young women that ever graced the social life of this community.  With her rare beauty, her refined gentleness and her cultured intelligence Mrs. Webb presents a type of womanhood which is society’s most precious adornment.  No girl has ever won more of the admiration of Jonesboro’s people and none has more richly deserved it.

“The groom is a prominent business man of Cartersville who holds the respect and esteem of all who know him, and whose social standing is all that a cultured and upright gentleman can attain.”

The above is from the Jonesboro Enterprise.

Mr. Webb is a young man of sterling worth; self-made, solid and reliable, and numbers his friends by the score.  He is receiving the congratulations of all and his lovely bride will receive a warm welcome among Cartersville’s warm-hearted people.  The happy couple have gone straight to housekeeping at Mr. Webb’s attractive new home in West End.

A reception was given the bride and groom by Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Monfort this evening.
