Alfred Forrester, a son 14 years old, of Mr. A. K. Forrester, reached home a few days ago after an absence of about four months that was full of experience. He slipped off from home and went to Indianapolis, where he joined the 158th Regiment from that state as a drummer boy. He was with the regiment at Chickamauga and Knoxville and when it was mustered out finally at Indianapolis. After his release from duty he visited his uncle at Gulf Port, Miss., before returning home. |
